Teach
me to be gentle, Lord, in all I say and do.
Help
me grow in kindness; I want to be like You.
You
hold me, oh! So gently, in the palm of Your strong hand,
And
show me loving tenderness in ways I understand.
Your
words come in soft whispers, so soothing to my ears;
As
You draw me close to tell me the things I need to hear.
|
Help
me be considerate of the ones whom I hold dear;
Not
ever shock or startle or cause another’s fear.
Your
embrace is warm and gentle as You kindly touch my heart;
Like
the quiet breeze of evening before the night winds start.
Your
love is true and lasting, Your caress is safe and sure.
I’ve
never any fears with Your love so free and pure.
|
In
gentleness and love, Lord, please help me start anew….
To
keep these two together as I try to be like You.
Along
with love, I need to give the gift of gentleness;
To
fill each act of love with all the kindness I possess.
Lord,
help me to be gentle so those I love will see
That
they are always safe when they are near to me.
